This course provides participants with the required knowledge & skills to perform duties as a Traffic Controller. This is for managing traffic on or through road construction sites, directing traffic with a stop/slow baton or similar.
You undertake 3 units of competency and the onsite practical session to complete a Traffic Controller course. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a Certificate allowing you to commence work in the industry. You will be given a “Third Party Assessment Form” for your Employer (or appropriate person) to complete after your course. This will include detailed instructions on the collection of evidence and the “signing off” on your Third Party Report. (More detailed information will be provided on the Training Day). This will need to be completed and returned to Intercept to finalise the issue of your :

RIICOM201D – Communicate in the workplace
RIIWHS201D – Work safely and follow WHS policies & procedures
RIIWHS205D – Control traffic with stop-slow bat
Traffic Controller Course Requirements
WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card or equivalent from other states)
Driver’s license (minimum Green P or equivalent) preferred
Closed shoes are also required for the practical session.
From 1 January 2015 all students studying qualifications are required to register for a Unique Student Identifier.
